A symbol of quality and excellence in the baking industry, having run for 33 years, The Baking Industry Awards are the most prestigious event in the UK bakery calendar, acknowledging the skills and achievements of individuals and businesses in the bakery industry. New for the 2020 awards, the Bakery Exporter of the Year category celebrates the achievements of businesses exporting their baked goods across the globe.
Announced at a virtual awards ceremony on the 20th of January, winning the Bakery Exporter of the Year highlights the considerable success overseas for our 5th generation family-owned business. Already the only UK manufacturer of ambient food to have received four Queen’s Awards for Export Achievement, this additional win will further contribute toward our global reputation for quality and excellence, as expert bakers of the World’s Finest Shortbread for over 120 years.
Full of praise for Walker’s, the judging panel commented that the attitude, aptitude, vision, and execution of the export strategy was second to none, and that we should be hugely proud of its achievements in the area.
