Whisky and Walkers, a pairing full of spirit and taste!

Whisky is huge part of our culture and surroundings here in Speyside, and is made with a vast amount of care and expertise in each bottle.

We could safely claim that Speyside is the ancestral home of the industry and is home to the unique Malt Whisky Trail which links several of our area’s distilleries in short distance of each other, a fantastic trail for tourists and the only trail of its kind in the world!

And with more than half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries being based in Speyside, it is perfectly fitting that the region celebrates every year with a whisky festival... The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival’.

The annual 5-day festival started in 1999 to celebrate Scotland's national drink. This world renowned event consists of around 500 whisky-inspired events across the region and this year runs from the 1st – 6th of May.

Walkers are delighted to remain a Gold Partner and supply a range of our products over the course of the festival, which gives whisky connoisseurs the opportunity to tour round several of the distilleries up in the North-East of Scotland and taste whisky’s they’ve maybe never heard of or seen before.

And our stunning local scenery, fine dining and of course a trip to our local shortbread shops makes the trip even more worthwhile and leaves visitors with a first class taste of Scotland!

Did you know, not only are Walkers delicious pure butter shortbread products the perfect accompaniment to your wee dram of whisky, but our oatcakes are also perfect for cleansing your palette between whisky tastings... everyday’s a school day!

We are also proud to bake a range of whisky infused products with our good friends at Glenfiddich Distillery, Dufftown. We blend our recipes with the world-famous single malt for a truly Scottish taste, and products include our Glenfiddich Whisky Shortbread, Glenfiddich Whisky Cake and Glenfiddich Whisky Highland Cake.

If you are in the area for this year’s festival, make sure to stop by one of our 5 local shops: we have a Factory Shop and a High Street Shop in Aberlour, and a shop on the High Street of Grantown-on-Spey , Elgin High Street and a shop in Aviemore.
